Personal Information Protection Policy
We recognize that protecting the personal information of our customers is the very foundation of our business activities and our social responsibility; therefore, we have set forth the following personal information protection policy to handle personal information in an appropriate manner.

    • We strive to protect personal information by complying with all laws, ordinances, and regulations related to personal information; appointing a person in charge of management of personal information (Chief Privacy Officer); and ensuring proper management by the Chief Privacy Officer.
    • We collect and use personal information, if necessary, in an appropriate manner and only to the extent necessary for business activities. In the case of your personal information, we do so only within the scope of the purpose of use agreed to by you, if necessary.
    • We manage personal information safely and accurately and take precautions to prevent unauthorized access, loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage of personal information.
    • We will not disclose personal information to any third party without prior consent, excluding the cases listed below. If we outsource the processing of personal information to a third party, we will require such party to handle the personal information in an appropriate manner consistent with our privacy policy by concluding an agreement.
  • We will strive to respond appropriately and promptly to complaints and consultations regarding the handling of personal information. In addition, we accept inquiries regarding the content of our personal information protection policy and requests for disclosure, etc. (notification of purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition or deletion, and suspension of use or provision) of personal data held by us.   • We comply with applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations related to personal information and strive to improve the management of personal information by audits and regular reviews to determine whether personal information is handled in accordance with the policy stated in the items above.

Purpose of Personal Information Protection
We will use the personal information that you have provided to us in connection with a contract and transactions with you only for the purpose set forth below:

  • Store and manage information regarding your umbilical cord blood and stored stem cells, such as the number of cells, date of collection, and medical institution where umbilical cord blood is collected after encoding such information by electronic methods to properly associate such information with the correct customer;
  • Fulfill contractual provisions, such as verification at the time of delivery for umbilical cord blood transplant safely and securely;
  • Properly handle all notices or inquiries regarding childbirth from medical institutions such as maternity hospitals;
  • Respond in a timely and proper fashion to your inquiries;
  • Send materials related to an invoice;
  • Send a storage card, birthday card and questionnaire;
  • Sponsor an event for our customers as a part of our service; (For example, to send an invitation to our Lab Tour.)
  • Reply to answers to a questionnaire, questions and opinions we receive from you;
  • Analyze and utilize within our company the information accumulated based on the information of our customers for dissemination of our business.
